She Wore a Blue Butterfly Assemblage
Description
Created using a recycled piece of an old picket fence.A few years ago, my dad built me a garden bench using the wood from an old picket fence that a friend had given me. I kept all the pickets he cut off (to make the seat) just knowing I would 'need' them for something cool one day!
The blue butterfly is a handsawn copper butterfly that I applied a patina to.
It is layered over a collage image photo and a piece of laser printed transparency.
The transparency image is from a handwritten geometry journal from 1811 (incidently the photos are taken on that same journals open pages)...
Assemblage is approximately 9" high, 2.5" wide and 1" thick. There is a sawtooth hanger attached to the back or it would also work well sitting on a shelf.
One of a Kind...as always!
Look for other versions of the picket fence assemblages to come...while the quantity of pickets hold out!
