Lovely flowers attractive to bumble bees, edible fruit
You will get 10 Passiflora incarnata seeds. Flower color ranges from almost white to a lovely lilac/lavender shade and these are open pollinated seed. Flowers are 3-4 inches across and very exotic in shape.
The name 'maypop' comes from the plant's habit of suddenly appearing in the first couple weeks of May. Generally this happens just after you decide something ate the rootstock over the winter and you won't get to see them again. Then a few days later, you'll notice there they are. Already a foot tall...
These are from my own Zone 6 backyard plants. In general, these are easy to grow. Additional information available upon request. Interestingly, my plants grow happily in almost pure clay soil which is normally fairly wet. This year we had a drought though, and the plants did just fine with only infrequent watering. I dare say they are not picky.
***new seeds just harvested and packed for the 2008 season. Germination rate currently in testing, but previous years have yielded a 90-95% rate***
