Manchurian Bunny Foo Foo Car Bling Mirror Charm
Description
Goddess Findings Car *Bling* Mirror Charms (c. goddess findings)We all spend a lot of time in our cars, and oh my, it can get stressful. Treat yourself and your faithful auto to a little Goddess *bling* designed to bestow protection and beauty all in one. Car Bling Mirror Charms are made only with finest natural gemstones with some gold tone, glass, crystal, or wood beads or varied metal charms; many hours go into stringing and restringing each piece, listening to the stones, so as to arrive at a strand that is balanced, and harmonious. After all, the beads must be happy together to work their magic! Result: Each piece is completely unique and no two are the same!
This Charm features an old coin from the Manchurian Provinces. I don’t know much about coins, but I can tell you that in 1911 the Manchu dynasty in China was overthrown, and in January 1912 China was declared a republic, after the boy Emperor Hsuan Tung (later to become better known as Pu-yi) abdicated. That gives you some idea of the date here-it would have been between 1908-1911. This is a GENUINE coin that was once in circulation in exotic places—this is not a reproduction.
The coin has been drilled on top, which obscures the “f” in the word “of”, but on that side it reads
“First Year O(f) Hsuan Tung Manchurian Provinces” and is adorned by a gorgeous dragon. One the other side of the coin are Chinese characters.
This car bling also features a Turquois glass hand blown glass bunny (named Foo Foo) sitting atop a clear crystal square bead with rounded edges and topped with a small glass rondell in turquoise.
Then a 23 mm faceted green fluorite bead (if you lke this bead, check out my Flourite Sprite Necklace- has a similar bead) flanked by three sided rich turquoise crystal beads. A turquoise glass square sits on top.
Are you a Rabbit in Chinese Zodiac? You are if you were born in 1915, 1927, 1939,1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999.
Rabbit or not, make this sumptuous little piece yours!
Total length on the charm is 9.5” including the 5” tiger tail loop designed to thread the charm up and over the mirror. Once secure, the charm will dangle about 5” down off the mirror, the perfect length so as to clear dashboards when swinging, and be safe around sharp turns!
For a better understanding of the importance of Chinese money and even Emperor Hsuan Tung, read, "The Fight For The Republic In China," by Bertram Lenox Simpson. The full text can be found on line and for free at Project Gutenberg.
