The color is a true red, not orange-red.
It is absolutely unbelievably soft and warm.

The model is 6 years old, however, because of the soft knit quality, the fit of this hat is very adjustable and would fit younger or older children because head sizes vary so much.

I always recommend hand washing knits in cool water.
Roll in a towel to remove excess water then lay flat till dry.
