Beautifully hand stitched reverse applique mola by a gifted Kuna Indian artist in ‘Kuna Yala’, The San Blas Islands of Eastern Panama.

Great colors.. great design! A wonderful tribal textile!

3 full gorgeous layers of reverse applique and lots of colorful underlay make this butterfly mola really special! There are 4 layers of applique on the butterfly's wings.. add two more for the body.. lots of detail rarely found on a mola of this size.

Other details include very well sewn 'ma ma ralay'.. the vertical design elements around the butterfly.. just perfect! A three layer fabric frame puts the finishing touch
on this gem of a small mola or in spanish 'molita'.

Beautiful Butterfly = 'chu chu yer dai leggay' in the Kuna dialect. It is that and more!
