The Wallflower - Original Encaustic Painting

Description

These flowers may live on a wall, but they will not pass up a dance.

This original 12x12 inch encaustic painting is full of life, color, and layers. Encaustic painting is simply painting with beeswax. Some of the wax has pigment, while some is the natural yellowy color of beeswax.

To paint with the wax, I melted the color blocks onto a low heat iron and an Encaustic Art stylus. The painting is layered with acrylic paint, collage, and wax. All of this layering was done on a 12x12 gallery-wrapped canvas. The sides of the canvas were painted with rich golds and yellow ochre.

I hope these flowers find a lovely home on a wall somewhere and that they never stop dancing for you. "Wallflower" will be shipped Priority Mail and will arrive at your home safely encased in bubble wrap.
