Natural Handmade Bluebird house with top observation portal, Nice

This is one of my best sellers from my many birding friends. This is a simple bluebird house with an added feature that allows for a person to open up the top and observe the nest and nestlings without exposing them to the elements. Perfect for the bird watcher who takes notes and wishes to observe the nestling without the fear of them being released by accident. I have also used this to disuade house sparrows from nesting since they don't like areas that are exposed to a lot of sunlight. The house sparrows usually will start to nest earlier than the bluebirds, once I observe bluebirds in the area and they are checking out the boxes, I close the top.

This birdhouse is made of all natural cedar and held together with stainless steel screws to give you years of bird watching experience. The plexiglass is secured in place while the top is hinged with a stainless steel hinge and secured on the sides with leather straps. I also place a strap on the top that can be used to secure the top while taking notes. The front entrance can be of two types, and I give you a choice of which you may alert me of upon checkout. One is a front with a standard entry hole of 1 1/2 inches with a predator guard, the other is a slotted entrance that allows for an entry slot of 1 1/2 inches at the top of the entrance. The slotted entrance was studied at the University of Kentucky and is reported to help disuade the invasion of house sparrows. You can find more information on this on the web by doing a seach on the study.

The entry is hinged at the bottom, so when the entrance is opened for access you get the maximum clearance to either check the nest or clean out the box. I also provide plenty of holes for air circulation.

This would be a great addition to any birder, whether they have trails or just want to entice bluebirds to their backyard or frontyard garden. This birdhouse in combination with my bluebird feeder would be a wonderful addition for any bird paradise and would last for many years.
