This is a highly-detailed, vibrantly colored piece inspired by Mexico's Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. I combined the simplified black outline of a skull with my usual funky abstract style to create an artwork that is vivid, boisterous, and jubilant. I like the paradoxical juxtaposition of the classic image of death and mortality - the skull - portrayed amidst colorful abstract forms and intricate designs, which express the fullness and joy of life.

This listing is for a professionally printed giclee produced from one of my drawings. The name and URL watermarks do not appear on actual print. The print is made with UV pigmented inks that are lightfast and durable, rated to last 150-200 years. The artwork is printed on white, fine art 210 g/m2 matte watercolor paper by HahnemÃ¼hle. The paper is acid-free with 50% rag. It has a natural white finish with a slightly-structured soft-textured surface. There is a 1" border around all four edges of the artwork, allowing for easy matting and framing.
