SAFARI DREAMS QUILT (58x82)

Description

The central focus of this one-of-a-kind quilt is a pre-printed 32 x 42" pictorial panel with an African animal theme. Surrounding this panel are 14 nine-inch piece-framed animal blocks, eight narrow split rail blocks, and four wide split rails. There is a three-inch wide gold outer border on each side, and ten-inch wide top and bottom borders in a gorgeous gold and brown print with gold etching. The backing fabric features animals and plants in bold, colorful outlines on a black background --- sort of a "neon jungle!" The label area has a similar print on a yellow background. The quilt is hand-bound with gold fabric.

Each block/square is outline-quilted with gold colored thread, and the central animals/maps on all pictorial blocks are also outline quilted.

Please note that this is a quilt, not a comforter or bedspread. At 58 x 82" it will cover the surface area of a twin mattress (typically 39 x 75") and allow for about a nine and a half inch overhang on each side and seven inches at the bottom.

All fabric, batting and thread is designer quality 100% cotton. The quilt is machine pieced and hand-guided machine quilted, then bound by hand. It was gently machine washed after completion, to ensure against colors bleeding, and also to create the slightly "puckered" look of an antique quilt. Laundry instructions are included.
