Saint Francis Feeds His Flock

This young turkey knows where to go for a good meal! With it's mother and five siblings, these turkeys made a daily appearance to the yard of this photographer for months, attracted by the birdseed readily available on the ground and in the bowl of Saint Francis (patron saint of the animals). Of interest to note is that while the turkeys are immediately drawn to the statue, and always quick to check the bowl for food, crows are definitely most reluctant to venture near it. Even when it is their favorite treats that are placed near the Saint Francis, the crows always keep a watchful eye as they gather their food. This photograph won as one of the best photos in a Backyard Feeder Contest for 2007, and has been featured on Massachusetts Audubon Society's website.

Original photograph taken with a Canon Powershot S3IS digital camera.

Each photographic artwork piece will be sent as an 8" x 10" mounted to an 11" x 14" acid-free white matboard, beveled at a 45-degree angle with a black core, and in most cases, double matted.
