This is an older watercolor painting that I did off a photo I snapped while I was studying in Mexico. I was wandering around a small pueblo, seeing the sights when I rounded a corner and saw this scene.

It was only when I got the pictures developed that I noticed the yellow warning sign for the school zone and I could not believe how the boy and the goats really made an unspoken, visual statement in a humorous contradiction of terms. I felt really lucky to have captured this image on film and it remains one of my favorite paintings to date.

Kid's Crossing was completed in 1994. It has been in several shows and is usually one of my most popular paintings that gets a lot of good comments and smiles.
