Embroidered Fiber Art Quilt - SPACE SPORES in SEARCH of a NEAPOLITAN WORLD:
This one of a kind embroidered fiber art quilt, titled "Space Spores in Search of a Neapolitan World" was inspired by the colors found in my girls favorite choice of ice cream!
I appliqued each circle to the background, machine satin stitching all around the edges. Then I thoroughly hand embroidered the entire piece.
Space Spores measures approximately 8" x 11" and has been mounted and backed with a fabric covered piece of Timex heavy interfacing, which has been hand stitched to the back of the quilt. (This provides a sturdy foundation, giving the textile piece a very finished and professional presentation, allowing the work to hang nice and flat.)
"Space Spores in Search of a Neapolitan World" is titled and signed on the back. A flat cord hanger has been securely sewn to the backside, for immediate hanging gratification. (Of course, the quilt is also suitable for framing should you so desire!)
