Description

This is an original copper plate line etching with aquatint and is the third in an edition of 100. The image area is 2" x 3" and with the archival matting it will fit into a standard 5" x 7" frame. The plate was inked and printed by me on my vintage etching press. I've made a series of bird etchings by observing the life in my backyard. I found that when you closely observe them, the birds show a lot of personality!

This is the first of my bird series. This little guy is a Tufted Titmouse with his tuft laying flat on his head so that he looks like an Everybird. I observed this same bird going in a circuit from tree to wall to ground and back to the tree, over and over. I was very pleased with the way the aquatint turned out in this print with the shades of gray. Seeing it reminds me of that sunny, quiet afternoon!
