assemblage box art - about me and my mom ii
Description
this piece is about my relationship with my mother...it wasn't a good one and this is my way of expressing it. i used a lot of things that represent the way she tried to keep me down and tied to her, like string and chains...old nails that represent how it made me feel (ugly and angry)...i put the colored glass in there because it's so pretty and i associated it with people who used to tell me how nice and funny my mother was (really?) but if you get too close to that glass, no matter how beautiful it is, you will get hurt. ouch! the led lights and locks represent how she used to try to stop me from living. this is like a good therapy session!one of a kind, original piece of art.
the front of the box has a clear acrylic panel attached with 4 screws.
