Sliabh Gallion Braes Pendant
Description
This is named for one of my favorite "landlord" songs in the Irish Tradition. It's about a sliabh (mountain) and its environs and how difficult leaving it behind was for the emigrant Irish. No reason why I'm associating with this piece in particular, except that the song is beautiful and I think this piece is, too.The detailed crescent moon at the bottom is Tibetan silver, a gift from urbanrose.etsy.com. Above that I placed a hand-pressed multifaceted teal glass bead. The chandelier octagon is probably between 25 and 50 years old, with limited faceting on the front and triangular facets on the back. The top section consists of a handmade bead that was supposed to separate into three but didn't before setting; it's a light aqua with a white core. The top bead is a modern clear crackle-glass round bead. The piece is wrapped with teal/peacock colored copper.
3 3/4" long
