lunar eclipse handbound book

Description

the dimensions for this moony handbound journal are about 4 3/4" x 6", and a little under 3/4" thick.

the cover was bound with lovely textured black fabric, and then a moon was cut out of white felt and glued onto the top right corner. this book was inspired by the recent lunar eclipse, so there is a bit of red felt covering the moon, much like in a lunar eclipse! i also cut out a tiny crescent moon and placed it on the outside of the spine. smooth cream cotton headbands peek out below and above the spine. the inside of the covers are lined with ethereal swirling antiqued blue and white cardstock.

the paper used is crisp georgia-pacific acid-free 110lb white card stock. there are 5 signatures of 3 sheets each, to make a grand total of 60 pages. the signatures were stitched together with blue upholstery thread using the kettle stitch method, and were then glued to several layers of cheesecloth material before being placed into the book. as a result, the pages will lay flat and you can write all the way into the margins!
