From my Beastiarium:
Number THREE of TWELVE distinct Specimen designs, reprinted with some new colors and book pages. The first image is a detail, the second image shows the whole page.

Printed on pages from ELEMENTS OF BOTANY for Beginners and Schools. A beautiful book with gorgeous botanical illustrations, printed in 1887 by the American Book Company. Each page is 5" x 8."

This is the third in a series of chimera or animal hybrids - this one of a Globigerina (a type of sea shell) and a merganser (a type of duck)- Oceanologists and ornithologists, forgive me. The organic forms growing out of the creature's head are from my imagination.

The inks used in this print run are mostly dark reds and browns with a little shimmery gold here and there.

These are mounted on matte board (fastened with artist's tape so you can remount if you prefer when framing). They are sent in a plastic sleeve and a sturdy cardboard envelope.
