Ode to Eames ... Charles and Ray and their chair ... print by elloh

Description

The image of design superstars Charles and Ray Eames and one of their designs, a molded plastic chair, is printed from an original painting by el (me) that was printed onto quality canvas cloth/paper.

They are the architect husband, Charles and painter wife, Ray, who were a well known design team. They worked on furniture, inventing their revolutionary (it truly was at the time and still is) molded chairs. They also worked on films and so many other fields. It would have been amazing to have spoken to them when they were alive. From what I’ve researched about them they don’t seem stuffy or pretentious at all. Just people who worked hard and had fun. Charles apparently loved the bow ties and Ray always wore a black dress/skirt with her hair usually tied up in a bow.

Many people covet their work still today, myself included. And although I would love to have the chair I painted in the image above, (umm… the price is a bit steep for me at the moment.), I think they are even more interesting.

You have the option of having the print a flat 8.5" x 11" size with white area around it perfect for framing, or for a small added fee* wrapped around a 6 x 8 x 3/4" wooden stretcher frame so it looks like a painting. This version will come ready to hang. You won't need a frame.

The print is signed and titled on the back and comes carefully packaged along with a paper certifying it as an authentic elloh piece-all ready to give as a gift.
