Winter in the City Cloche, Black Felt

Description

I hand blocked this felt hat on a handmade wooden Italian hat block. It has a glamorous and romantic shape and a great vintage style. Using a hidden stitch, I sewed a wire into the folded over brim for structure. I trimmed the hat with an extravagant felt flower which I made from two different textures of black felt. I cut and shaped each petal and then sewed them all together. For the center of the flower I used dark charcoal grey felt. This gorgeous flower sits on a simple band made from the same black felt as the body of the hat.

The hat size is about 22 5/8 inches (57cm) or a size 7 1/4, perfect for a medium to large head. The inside has a band of black grosgrain ribbon.
