She Eased Her Body...
Description
A letterpress printed broadside, signed and numbered on the back, from an edition of 15. This broadside features original writing and illustration by Clare Carpenter, of Tiger Food Press.A girl I used to walk home from school with in junior high let me in on the secret of super skintight Levi 501s, pegged, of course! The building in the print was built in the early 1930s and was the City of Portland's municipal garbage incinerator. After the 1970s when the building was decommissioned, a local astronomy teacher tried to turn the building into a public astronomy center. That daydream was never realized, but the building still stands in my neighborhood, minus the chimney/observatory.
Linoleum cut illustration is hand-inked. The handwriting style text is hand-carved in linoleum. The other text is hand-set lead type.
Printed on 80 lb. cover, French Paper "Aged Newsprint." 12.5 inches by 19 inches.
This print comes to you flat, unframed, unmounted. I will send it in an archival sleeve with a sheet of mat board for stability in shipping.
