Like softly glowing lanterns, on a summer night...

I named this Illuminate, as my brain was fixated on Thomas Edison as we just had our local Edison Festival of Light here.... I think it's a nifty coincidence that the word illuminate has the name "Mina" in it...Mina Edison was a strong and interesting woman (you can read more about her here: http://www.nps.gov/edis/historyculture/mina-miller-edison.htm)

Bulbs of laboratory grown opalite in an almost off-white, very slightly extremely pale yellow tinted translucent, seem to gently glow and captivate...

The "bulbs" are entwined with sterling silver (oxidized for contrast) and hang from a sterling silver chain...

This necklace can be worn at a few different lengths. At it's shortest it has a long tail hanging down from the nape of your neck, at it's longest, it has a bulb and a hammered ring near the clasp(which moves off to the side when a longer overall length is chosen).... You can make this as short as you would like, the tail will just be longer... I sized this though for a little shorter than 17" and 20" is the maximum length... The images of how this hangs show the 17" and 20" lengths...At 17", the tail measures a little under 5"...

Please allow for small variations that do occur in handmade goods using vintage components. Your earrings will be the same design, materials, colors, as shown. Components with large variations are used for different pieces.
