Description

Bottom's gift to Titania, made from things he found in the woods, and assembled by Cobweb in Shakespeare's "A MidSummer Night's Dream." I actually was one of Titania's sprites, in 1978, for the Montana Repertory Theater, and at Actor's Theater in Louisville, KY. I have always felt the play was image-rich and artistically inspiring. When I found these bronzy stick pearls, looking so much like actual sticks, I immediately imagined a piece that would be organic, primitive and spiky. The Swarovski volcano triangle gems were such a good addition; subtle and yet sparkly, which all my jewelry simply must be. I used nearly every beading technique I know here, peyote stitch, herringbone, brick stitch, netting, and fringe, and I love the piece almost as much from the back, given the bezels I created for the triangle jewels, and how beautiful they are in the Aiko cylinders. The clasp is a buttonhole and and woven toggle. This piece really sits beautifully on the body, framing both neck and breasts.

To give you some size information, the inside of the top of the necklace measures 13.5", and I've seen it on several necks, up to a size 8 woman, and liked how it looked. The base of your neck could measure up to 15" and the piece should work nicely for you. From the top of the piece at the center to the bottom of the fringe is 7.5 inches.
