Atlantis Queen Wedding Necklace

This necklace was created as my entry into the Etsy Beadweavers Team Challenge entitled "Time Machine."

One of my longest lasting fascinations and one of the few myths with virtually no scientific (historic) evidence to back it, the lost/sunken continent of Atlantis is said to have been populated by a civilazition highly technologically, scientifically and sociologically advanced and to have had the power to harness unlimited energy from crystals.
Wouldn't you wonder how regular life, or even special ocasions would be in that place?
Thinking what a wedding would have been for such people inspired this creation.

3 different spiral stitches, 3 different techniques for beaded beads, 3 wedding colors, 3 layers and the everfashionable beaded fringe - with my own gimick: ending the fringe in a daisy. This design was 11h in the weaving, not including the many tried techniques that didn't match the final design, but including the time to weave the focal beaded beads and the beaded bead for the clasp ;-).

The necklace is 17.5 in (45cm) on the inside (upper layer) with an additional 7.5 (22cm) for the second and third layers including the 2in (5cm) fringe.
It closes with a beadedbead-and-loop clasp.

There are matching earings, done using the smallest beaded bead and the fringe. Stay tuned for their listing.
A matching bracelet can be done from the 3 different spirals as a strand, with the medium/smallest beaded bead in the center of each strand.

Feel free to e-mail me, if you'd like the size adjusted or if you'd like different colors. I am not making this in duplicates: each color scheme would be a OOAK creation.
