Stained Glass-Wrought Iron Lantern Hammered Gold

Description

This beautiful lantern was designed and crafted by me using the copper foil method with Wissmach Hammered Gold Stained Glass with clear diamond bevels, one in the center of each of the four sides. The lantern frame is quality powder-coated wrought iron finished in flat black. The three sides are closed, and the door opens and fastens closed with a loop. The "roof" tapers up to the handle, and the very top is open to allow a draft through the lantern, keeping the candle lit. The handle stays cool due to the updraft.

A pillar candle sits in a well inside the lantern, or a glass votive and smaller candle can be used. The burn time of a 3" candle was tested and found to burn down approximately 50% in 11 hours.

The dimensions of the sides are 8" wide x 10" high. Including the roof and top handle loop, the total height is 15".

This would be a beautiful lantern to display on a porch, in a window, or even inside your home.
