Brilliant Bronze Choker with Pearls (2098)

I worked on this and only this for five days straight. And I could not be more pleased with the results.

Heavy metal looks, feather weight. Only with seed beads can you achieve the best of both worlds.

I used peyote and brick stitches to needleweave (no loom at Sand Fibers!) this choker. The band measures just under 1/2" ; the center is approximately 3.5" at its widest and 3.7" at its longest. The adjustable closure will let it go from 14.5" to 17".

The choker was woven with Japanese delica beads in iris light bronze cylindrical and hexagonal beads, resulting in colors from bronze, to pink, to blue. I added a few bronze freshwater pearls to soften things a little.

The pictures were taken outside on a cloudy day. This piece changes with every movement and change of light. Sometimes it's quite obvious that the upper portion of the triangle (the band) consists of alternating triangles as well; sometimes you can't tell at all. I imagine this piece would be spectacular on a dance floor with disco lights as well as a candle-lit table for two.
