TIME MACHINE LANDS ON BRONZE AGE - BeadWoven Peyote Necklace

This necklace was created for the Etsy BeadWeavers monthly challenge. Aprils' theme is TIME MACHINE.

This Time Machine takes us to the Bronze Age, the beginning of human recorded history and the first Phraos.
The bronze colors mimic royal amulets and the grace of this piece reflects the growing importance and refinement of the arts at this period.

No surprise I would choose a bronze pallet of colors. The inspiration for this time period are the three focal center beads. These glass beads were whispering, "Bronze Age, Bronze Age."
These beads are glass, clear with bronze/copper edging. They are rectangular but round on the short edges.
They have an interior circle of the same coloring.

I found myself trying to incorporate many of these focal beads.
Seems I was taking apart the piece more than I was putting it together. After trial and error, the final result was, elegance is measured not in quantity but quality.

This necklace measures roughly 19" from end to end.
The piece is beadwoven with seed beads in several sizes, firepolished beads, and delicas.
Metallic dark bronze, metallic bronze, topaz gold luster, matte metallic dark bronze, sparkling light bronze lined crystal and brown iris unite to create this one of a kind ensemble.
The clasp on this necklace is a bronze/copper colored snap closure. Easy to put on and easy to take off.
This necklace has a wonderful variety of interest and texture.
