Vintage 1950s dress pattern - Vogue Special Design S-4544

...Geez. It really was too darn hot. She was about the only person in the whole ballroom who looked like she wasn't being roasted alive in a slow oven. He was hypnotised by the way she used the ivory fan, graceful and effortless, and the way her skirts seemed to fan around her with every movement. Wasn't there some old Victorian secret language to do with fans? He dimly remembered being told that in a history class once. What was it if you held it open on your cheek? "Follow me"? "We are suspected"? "I love thee not"? He wished he'd paid more attention in class and less time trying to tie Susie Jenkins' braids to the back of her chair. Still, fortunately he had one advantage over his Victorian ancestors. Times had moved on, and there was no stuffy propriety to stop him just walking on up to her and asking if he could buy her a drink....

Vogue pattern for a beautiful dress: panel skirt has godets between panels at side front and skirt back. Wide V neck front and back neckline, and dropped shoulder armholes.

Pattern is copyrighted 1954.

Size: 34" bust, 37" hip

Condition: Pattern is complete with all pieces and instructions. Pattern pieces (like all those from Vogue patterns of this period) are unprinted and pre-cut to size. Pieces are in good shape but could use an iron. Envelope is intact and in reasonable condition- a previous owner has mended a couple of tears using matte tape- they've done a good job- the taping isn't obvious.
