Description

a blown glass vase made from the very beautiful and rare calcedonia glass. calcedonia is a very special glass recipe originating from italy in the 14th century that was lost for hundreds of years, and rediscovered in the 19th century. it uses silver nitrate along with some other metallic oxides to get a truly unique, one of a kind piece of glass. the silver nitrate reacts with the variances of heating and cooling while shaping the glass to form different color patterns, and though they are somewhat guided, the patterns and vibrance of the colors are decided mostly by the environment which the piece was made.
