Still sealed vintage 1940s/1930s pattern for a dress- Blackmore 7085

....Peggy could keep the kids amused for hours with the old "guess what I've got in my pocket" routine. They never got the answer, which was usually something like "stale biscuit crumbs" or "laundry fluff", but at least it kept them still.....

Still sealed late 1930s/ early 1940s pattern by Blackmore for a pretty dress.

Dress has short sleeves with shoulder fullness, gathered down the centre front of the bodice, gathered top pockets and stitched down pleats in the skirt front. Sash ties at the back.

Although this is a beautiful pattern, I'd recommend it for sewers who have some sewing experience (especially working with vintage patterns). This is because there is no technical line drawing/schematic and because the only instructions provided in Blackmore patterns are the text on the back of the packet (see photos).

NOTE: This pattern states "allow half-an-inch extra for turning on all seams- no turning are included on the pattern". Basically, this means that there is no seam allowance included.

Medium: 36" bust. (Note that seam allowance is not included in the pattern pieces- see our note above.)


CONDITION:

This pattern packet is still sealed shut and has never been opened (although a tiny gap is beginning to unseal itself)! The envelope has some wear and age spotting, but is otherwise in reasonably good condition for its age.
(Pattern pieces from Blackmore patterns of this period are pre-cut to size and unprinted.)
