Greeting Cards from a Cabinet of Curiosities - Pack of 4 Cards

Are your friends collectors, creature or curiosity lovers? Have you aced your biology exam and want to send a ‘thank you’ note to your tutor? Do you know a mad professor in need of a little letter-love? If yes, then these are the cards for you!

This set of greeting cards was inspired by a limited edition screenprint I made called “Curiosity Cabinet” (which you can also see in my shop). The screenprint depicted 13 different creatures in bottles arranged on shelves – I have selected some of my favourite creatures for these handprinted “Cards from a Cabinet of Curiosities”.

The cards are ‘double-sided’, that is they have an image printed on both the front and the back. The set of four cards is made up of two of each design. The first design has an octopus on the front and a serpent on the back. The second design has a starfish on the front and a frog on the back. Each card has been lovingly hand screenprinted by me in a dark-teal-with-a-slight-hint-of-aluminium-shimmer ink (a strange colour I had a lot of fun mixing, mad-professor-style!). The ink is a non-toxic water-based ink. The cards are printed on a slightly textured, heavyweight (300gsm) Hahnemule paper, and have been hand-trimmed with smart curved corners that echo the organic, rounded shapes of the creatures and their jars. The set also includes four envelopes in a lovely subtle greenish-grey colour.

Each set of four cards has been uniquely packaged in handmade translucent envelopes with labels made from recycled sections cut from “Curiosity Cabinet” screenprints that didn’t make it in to the limited print edition.

As the cards are entirely handmade (printed, cut, scored and folded) each card is unique and some minor irregularities may occur. Please also bear in mind that colours may differ slightly from those displayed on screen.
