The summer of '28 was a summer of beach days and dancing nights, of illicit bourbon and jazz under the palms. It was also the summer of the Shimmy. "You must run up to Bridgeport and see Adele Benson dance the Shimmy" they said. Adele shimmied on, a dervish of delicious movement, from her sash to her dancing collar to her exquisite wrists, every fibre jumping to the rhythm of the saxaphone. She was one hell of a dancer, they said. No one shimmied like Adele. One day she was gonna shimmy her way right across to Hollywood and take the world by storm...

Dress has three sleeve variations: short, long fitted or long full sleeves, and optional neck and wrist details.

Size: 36" bust

Condition: All printed pieces and "printo gravure" instructions (which are printed on tissue like the pattern pieces) are present and correct, and appear to be uncut and in their original factory folds. Pieces have some age discoloration but are otherwise in very good condition. Envelope is a little torn in places but holding together.
