BEADED VINES Vintage 1960s Angora Cardigan Sweater M 40

Description

Made of a light tan, luxe and soft angora/wool blend, the vintage 1960's sweater features a ribbed neckline, waistband & cuffs. 3/4 length, fully fashioned sleeves. The front placket has sewn-closed buttonholes, a common detail seen during the era when sweaters were shipped from a separate country (often Pringle of Scotland did this) to the country where the beading was done (often done in Hong Kong). Hook & eyes close the front. The cardigan is lined in silk, except the sleeves.

But DIG that BEADING! It's amazing! Smothering the front chest panels, around the neck and onto the back are long, curling vine designs, done in gold bugle beads and dotted with shiny, round gold beads as well. There's even a beaded leaf over each sleeve cuff!

Made by Peacock Sweaters, there is no size listed, but seems to fit like a modern medium. Please follow these measurements for your perfect fit~

BUST: 40" flat unstretched to a tight 44" max
WAIST: 30"- 32"
SLEEVE LENGTH: 17"
LENGTH: 20"
CONDITION: Excellent! There is some light allover pilling and the lining has a few small water spots and tiny rust spots (see closeup). Otherwise there are no holes/moth chomps, stains, odors or fading. All the beading is present, perfect, and sewn down tight. Exceptionally clean and ready to rock!
