One pound of StrikingColor DA-427 striking silver glass cane/rod. These canes are hand pulled and vary in uniformity. They average about 11 inches long and are approximately 6 - 9mm in diameter.
This glass contains silver, and has the potential to strike to virtually any color, depending on working conditions and heat treatment. DA-427 starts out as a dark transparent amber and readily strikes to any one of a number of colors.
Preliminary testing shows that getting it extremely hot and then cooling and reheating a few times to strike works well, although experimentation is the ideal way to determine what works best with your torch and fuel combination. Beads in the photos were made on a Nortel Minor torch using propane and bottled oxygen.
DA-427 glass is not recommend for use with HotHead or other single fuel torches.
This glass is generally compatible with other 104 COE glasses such as Moretti/Effetre, Vetrofond, etc.
All of the beads in the photos were made exclusively with this StrikingColor DA-427 glass. The color variations are solely due to the striking characteristics of this glass.

If you don't mind the canes being cut to fit into a smaller box - 7 inches maximum, the price of shipping is $15. Same for full size canes shipped via Parcel Post - $15. If you choose to have the canes cut, please understand that I will be cutting 11 inch canes down to size. This means that of each cane cut, there will be one cane of just under 7 inches and one of 3-5 inches. If you want I can cut to different specs for you, but will still be cutting canes averaging 11 inches long.
