A variation on my labour of love necklace, this design can be worn at least four different ways (see last picture demonstrated by some old designs, this listing is only for the necklace in the first four pictures, and may vary slightly in the way they hang. In particular, the double layered choker position has both chains hanging much more closely on this piece), by hooking the two clasps (both 14K/20 gold-filled, one a spring clasp and the other a large lobster clasp) on the various loops along the necklace!
I painstakingly cut, balanced, re-cut and rebalanced the chains so that the weights would hang right in the various different positions. It can be worn as a double layered choker, asymmetric layered choker, a single simple chain or an asymmetric long dangle necklace ...four wonderful different looks! As a choker, the inner diameter ranges fron 14 to 15.5 inches (35 or 40 cm) depending on where you hook, and as a long necklace, the full length is about 27 inches (65 cm).
The centrepiece of the necklace is an aged vintage brass charm that reads in French "Love you more than yesterday and less than tomorrow". It is paired with a gorgeous focal made from a vintage Krementz pin (vintage Krementz pieces are similar to today's 14K gold-filled pieces in gold content), a stunning glossy polished champagne citrine and a vintage brass diving swallow charm. A long, lovely strand of silky Akoya saltwater pearls painstakingly handwired with 14K/20 gold-filled wire adds tons of depth and texture.
All findings, pins and wires are 14K/20 gold-filled. So romantic, versatile and lovely!
