Description:
Handmade Bath & Body products can be surprisingly fun and simple to create. With a little guidance, a few good recipes, and the right tools you could be on your way to becoming a full fledged Mixer or Mixtress in no time. In this class you’ll learn to make three of the most fundamental Bath & Body products: Soap, Lip Balm, and Sugar Scrub. The basic recipes and instructions you’ll receive during this class are easily customizable, allowing you to create your own unique creations later on. We’ll also discuss some basic formulation issues including preservation, natural vs. synthetic ingredients, and using Essential Oils.
To complete your Bath & Body crash course we’ll discuss some issues that pertain to selling handmade cosmetic products including, safety labeling, shelf life, truth in labeling, and liability.
Students will learn to make (and will be taking home):
* 5 Tubes of All Natural Lip Balm
* 2 Bars of Free Style Melt & Pour Soap
* 3 Two Ounce Jars of Honey Ginger Sugar Scrub
** Students will also receive a small zine created by the teacher containing the recipes they’ve created as well as some basic information on creating handmade Bath & Body items.
This class is ideal for beginners. No prerequisite skills are required.

Class fee is $70.00.
This class will be led by Mary Helen McNally. Mary Helen is a professional DIY Bath & Body recipe formulator and writer from Western Connecticut.
