Skill Set Required: All Levels
The completed doll: 23” Standing Doll
Her friends call her Metalmaid. Wherever she goes, the clatter of metal on metal can be heard. Some say she was born with a magnetic heart. Others know it to be true.

We will be sculpting a PaperClay head, hands, and some unusual mermaid fins for this clever metalmaid. Details will be provided for PaperClay usage and step-by-step instructions will be given for all sculpted body parts. Once sculpted and allowed to air dry, the PaperClay parts will be sanded, painted, and sealed.
Metalmaid’s storyline will be explored, encouraging you to participate with your own unique twist. Fabrics will be selected and your caches of beads, steampunk charms and gears will be dragged into the studio. We will refine the upper body by sculpting over the fabric / PaperClay joints. Costuming is short and sweet, but metal decorations will require your artistic eye and a fair amount of fun labor. A wooden display base will be designed to enhance the theme while providing support for this standing doll.
