Vintage Avon Christmas Plate 1973 "Christmas on the Farm"

Vintage Avon Christmas Plate 1973 "Christmas on the Farm". This lovely collectible plate is itself in excellent condition and comes in its original box and outer cardboard sleeve. The outer sleeve has some damage to it (photo 3) as if water or something spilled on it. The inner box is in good condition and the plate itself is in excellent condition. This is one of several Avon plates my mother collected--some she displayed on a stand or on the wall and some were kept in their boxes. This particular plate is rimmed in gold and has Christmas 1973 in gold lettering at the bottom. The color of the outside ring around the plate is a blue-green color. On the white center of the plate is an old-fashioned scene of a sleigh being pulled by two horses and carrying a large green Christmas tree. There are children in the snowy yard in front of a large gray house and red barn, with cows in the snowy field beyond. There are other trees and houses dotted on the landscape. In the far background is a wooded area with blue-gray mountains in the distance. On the back of the plate is printed Christmas Plate Series First Edition "Christmas On the Farm", made exclusively for Avon Products, Inc. by Enoch Wedgwood (Tunstall) Ltd., England. The plate measures approximately 8 7/8" across.
