About

Library book dustcovers transformed my life!

For years I cut and rolled strips of library book dustcovers, harvested from
the University of Kansas library system for paper beads and made pairs for earrings--
thousands of pairs, which I sold for 10 years.

Next, I discovered that my greatest fear--paper beads getting wet or going
through the wash--was to be the door that would open for the creation of my next product line. Wet dustcovers allow the paper to separate from the plastic component and the
plastic holds the ink that color all those beautiful dustcovers. The harvested
plastic allows light to shine through.

First, I applied the plastic to construction glass block for bookends and medicine bottles
turned into bud vases. The discovery of a source for glass block vases allowed me
to design the night light which I trademarked in 1999.

In the last 15 years, my lamps have appeared in Femail Creations, the Wireless Catalog,
and After5Catalog. They are also available at www.detailsart.com. Thanks!
