5 out of 5 starsThis is my third ring from Jac and Hugo, and I am again so delighted with it, it is a 60th birthday gift for someone special, it is a very classy signet ring and is quite eye catching. I will be ordering another as a gift for my daughter’s birthday. Honestly the craftsmanship is really professional and, like all of the rings I have bought from Jac and Hugo, is really comfortable to wear. Worth every penny. Communication was pleasant and the tight timeframe wasn’t a problem.

About jacandhugo
jac & hugo A Creative Business
A mini interview with Jacqueline from jac&hugo.
What inspires your designs?
I'd have to say art, photography and travel. I have an ever-changing collage on a giant pin board of tear sheets and images that I love referencing. (I think my pin board is a work of art)! It's a collation of fabulous places, interiors and architecture, fashion trends and colour forecasts. I gravitate to simple, clean lines and classic pieces. I’m a believer in less is more and I love seeing one large ring or a fabulous necklace complete an outfit.
Why did you begin making jewellery?
Working with silver happened by chance and made so much sense to me that it quickly became a passion. Jac&hugo ties together the creative 'maker' in me with my previous work in fashion and styling. I love the process of making everything by hand. It’s deliciously tactile, carving the wax, beating the silver, and when a piece emerges from the final polish, it is beautiful and I'm as proud as can be having created it.
Is there a family connection to metal work?
My mum was an artist and in the 70s she did a lot of copper etching. I grew up with those pieces and still have some. When I opened my Esty store she reminded me of our ancestry. My Great Grandfather was an engraver and silversmith. In 1911 he had a shop on Market Street in the heart of Sydney and my Grandfather was an apprentice to him. They were commissioned to make beautiful things for the Queen! Mum kept a couple of their tools and they are a lovely reminder each time I use them. So yes, the passion for working with precious metals does seem to run in the family!
Oh, and that company name? A nod to Jacqueline's family dog, Hugo, her very loyal companion while she works.

a metal casting company using jac&hugo moulds
Sydney, NSW
Some of jac&hugo designs are created using a lost wax casting process. This is dangerous work needing expertise and so I use an outside silver casting company to do this step for me. This enables me to offer you a variety of sizes in each design.
Shop policies
I hope you love what you find here as much as I love creating each piece and that your purchase will be treasured by family and friends for generations.
Each piece is made by hand, one at a time, using .925 and .935 sterling silver or 9ct gold.
I work with recycled silver and gold where possible and buy from a reputable Sydney company who mill and produce their products with the smallest carbon footprint manageable. Recycling doesn't compromise the quality in the slightest as it is thoroughly milled to achieve its classification of .925/.935 sterling or 9ct gold. It means that these precious metals are reused and repurposed.
