Welcome to my Etsy shop!
As an artist living in the Central Valley of California, I have painted from the Sierras to the Monterey Coast. I paint with oils, acrylics and pastels in my studio as well as on location "en plein air". I also enjoy mono printing & collage. I offer for sale some of my original paintings, note cards and prints from paintings on this Etsy shop.
Retirement in 1999 from a long teaching career has given me the opportunity to become a professional artist. I have studied with many fine artists, my work has been shown in a number of art galleries, and I have won numerous awards in many shows. My work is in personal art collections in the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia.
Now I am concentrating on my Etsy shop. When you buy art from me, you help me support my "Art Habit" and encourage me to continue to create. You are buying original art or prints from a USA artist painting the beauty she sees around her.

The artist has managed to capture everything that is perfect about Carmel in one small print, which is a near impossible feat. It is beautiful and we all will look at it with smiles for years to come!

I was expecting slightly higher quality of paper, but it turns out it didn’t matter because the quality of the art was strong enough no matter the paper that was used. The print made a lovely gift for someone who immediately recognized the mission and has fond memories of it as well.

The Art of Rhett Regina Owings
I am a painter in the Central Valley of California and have been painting for over 30 years. I enjoy painting landscapes, still life, animals and anything else that tickles my fancy! I paint in plein air as well as in my art studio. Oils are my medium of choice, but I also like using pastels, water media, and pen & ink. I also enjoy playing with paper and mixed media from time to time. I have fun creating tiny paintings too, sometimes they are studies for my larger paintings.
Capturing the color and scenery around me is important to me. I love color and enjoy watching the colors mix on my palette and painting. I have painted in orchards, golf courses, wildlife land, gardens & parks, Gold Rush towns, Yosemite, along the coast and on farms in the Central Valley and in Salinas.
I also enjoy folding and embellishing origami paper cranes. I don't fold origami, I fold PAPER CRANES. The paper crane is the International symbol of peace and I love it's meaning and story. I have folded and embellished over 4,000 cranes and sell my cranes in art galleries and museum gift shops. Now with the crises we are all facing, my art galleries and museums are all closed. So I am turning to Etsy to help me sell my art.
