About ARTTEEZ

Sales 593
On Etsy since 2015

Arteez transforms the ordinary t-shirt into a work of art.

Arteez is all about creating bright and colorful t-shirts and giclee art prints from the work of real artists.

We are proud to have the exclusive rights to the artwork and graphic shirt designs from the new Colors of Hessemer, the merchandising arm of American oil painter, Charles Hessemer. Known for his use of vivid color, Charles' artwork just comes alive on our shirts. Arteez is launching our store focusing on t-shirts, but soon we will be adding more shirt styles and other outerwear for both women and men, and we also will be adding the artwork of other artists.
And we now offer our new giclee prints from the oil paintings of Charles Hessemer. Giclee prints are reproductions faithful to the original paintings, but within the means of virtually all people.

We are super excited to be a part of the Etsy community and we hope our unique, one-of-kind shirts will become a favorite store to everybody who visit us. We welcome feedback about our shirts and our store. Please feel free to email us, we would love to hear from you!

About the artist Charles Hessemer
Born in the small, backward town of Jackson, Michigan, where the word painter was a man who painted houses and barns, and where the word art was the name of his mailman. There were no museums, and no art electives in school, to know otherwise, that talent is God's Gift, and that a gifted person, inspite of his or her beginnings, will eventually find a profound purpose in life. This painter found that purpose at the age of 18. A USN enlisted man assigned to duty at the U.S. Navy Dept. in Washington D.C. Taking an empty desk he found all drawers empty, except for the bottom drawer. There, waiting for him, was a lonely book entitled "How to Draw the Figure." His future from that moment, from day to day, was being etched in stone. Returning to his birthplace for one year, he did not belong and left for art school in Chicago, where he plunged into his love of art. He spent 20 years in the Chicago world of advertising, working first as an art director, then as a conceptual writer, and finally a creative director. He began a double career, art director by day, and painter by night, continuing his study of painting the figure, not with a brush, but with a palette knife. His paintings have been on permanent exhibit in galleries in Chicago, Dallas, Santa Fe, Maui, and Tampa. He now is finally devoting full time to his primary purpose in life. The life of the painter, one who paints not walls, but paints on canvas. He has focused on painting the human figure. To paint the figure with a palette knife is a lifelong commitment, of learning before one can say, "I can paint the figure with a knife with the dexterity of a brush, and produce an impasto, 3-dimensional surface that the brush cannot do." There is only one way a Hessemer painting can be properly seen and evaluated. Seeing an original is to understand why he stands alone among all those who try to do what took him a lifetime to learn. To paint the human form with a blade of steel. He has produced nearly 400 paintings in his lifetime, and it is his hope that "My last painting will be my best."
