    About

    Paint it until it's beautiful!

I started Junque Chic about 20 years ago. after realizing I had a really good eye for seeing the potential in an ordinary piece that if painted in the right way would become fabulous! Add a few great chairs with an old grainsack for upholstery and a little Ironstone and you'll have the makings of that Farmhouse (no matter where you live) you long for in the country! There's nothing I offer my customers that I wouldn't gladly have in my own home, In fact quite often I have trouble letting go of a piece. Let's face it, you can't have them all Lol! Everything I offer is good quality and will last a long time. Adding to that are one of a kind handmade items that I have designed or altered and seem to be my top sellers. Most of what's in my home is what has been given to us or bargains that I have simply painted. It seems if I just choose what I would want in my home, that's what sells! .

Farmhouse style is my absolute favorite! Lighter colors and "chippy" pieces mixed in with some bare raw wood are what you will find in my home. I'm also completely in love with architectural pieces like salvaged columns, corbels and old barn wood. I often shop in my own barn overflowing to the brim when searching for something to add to a new vignette. There's always something out there to pick from:) I live in a 100 year old Victorian with a carriage house (I call it a barn) in Dayton, Ohio in the Huffman Historic District. This name derives from the creator of "Huffy" bikes which worked closely with the Wright Brothers who invented the airplane!

Just recently in Nov 2015 I moved most of my supplies and pieces to a wonderful studio located in the Davis-Linden Building less than 5 minutes from my home. This is a giant old industrial building that is the exact atmosphere for doing what I do. I have a place to build, paint. sew and upholster. Not to mention this incredible light that pours in through the old windows making just the right stage for my photos on Etsy! Besides my husband, children and grand children this is what makes me the happiest!

I have a blended style of "Primitives" from my youth and "Shabby Chic" as an adult that has developed into a more polished French Farmhouse Style.

Shipping payments are due to the shipping agent either immediately to Greyhound Express (items under 100 lbs.) or to the driver for door to door service for heavier items(over 100 lbs.) All other shipping payments are included in the price as stated.

If you would like to make your own shipping arrangements, please feel free to do so:)
    Shipping
I check my shop 2-3 times a day. Small items ship when payment has cleared via USPS within 48 hrs.

Furniture (items under 100 lbs.) are shipped Greyhound Package Express, with pick up at your local bus station. Usually within 1-2 weeks. This method requires my packaging the item which can and may include recycled shipping materials such as blankets, baby bumper pads, cardboard and bubble wrap:)

Furniture items over 100 lbs require private freight liner. Please convo your zip code for a shipping quote to be added to the final cost prior to checkout. Freight Liner will take between 3-4 weeks for delivery. In some cases 6-8 weeks depending on your location. Western states seem to take the longest. Please state if you want your piece insured. This will be an additional cost that is the buyer's responsibility.

Please Note:In cases of layaway, shipping arrangements are not made until final payment has cleared.

I highly recommend insuring your pieces of furniture, as they are too hard to replace. This will make it much easier for you should you ever have to file a claim to give you a direct contact with the shipper.

    All sales are final.
    Additional policies and FAQs
If you have some type of unusual situation that requires some unusual arrangements, I am willing to work with you.
Please be patient during shipping arrangements. I will message at least every 2 weeks until final details are available.
