About

High Quality Geek Art, Hand Painted Journals and Skateboards and Awesomeness on the web...

I've always been a geek. Growing up I read comic books, watched to many cartoons, and memorized the Back to the Future trilogy. Keep in mind this was all before it was... cool to be a "geek." Now I'm not entirely certain it is cool to be a geek now of days or not. But I am seeing a trend with the response I've been getting on my latest work, and for all that I am grateful.

Now for the Art Background:
I attended Paier College of art and graduated with a B.F.A. in Illustration. After college I got a job at a few art stores, eventually becoming a store manager. If college opened my eyes to the art world, working at an art store taught me more than I’d like to admit.

Working as a store manager gave me a unique out look on my art and has taught me the business side of Art and invaluable techniques on how to market my work. It's not just about creating cool, unique, work...it's also about getting it out there and sold so I can continue to create.

After a few years successfully painting, I switched my attention back to my child hood and started creating imagery that would have caught my eye when I was younger. The geek in me "squees" every time I finish a new design. And what is better than playing to my inner childhood love for things like Star Wars, The Goonies, and Thunder Cats? Well... the reactions from people like you of course! :D So get your geek on and I hope you enjoy.

  • Tom Ryan's Studio

    Owner, Creator, Designer

I'm a geek, creator, problem solver, designer & my own worst enemy. I’m what many would categorize as an artist. I have a passion for art, & working with like minded individuals.

  • Link

    Assistant

Link joined Tom Ryan's Studio many ago. He's been silently helping me with inspiration and creative ideas. Every few years he just picks up his shield, sword and occasionally ocarina and goes off to save Hyrule.

  • The Doctor

    Shipper

The Doctor, signed up with Tom Ryan's Studio just recently. Being a time traveler it was a no brainer to have him in delivery's. His wanderlust leaves me plenty of order to ship out myself. I'd fire him but its been some time since Ive seen him last.

  • Johnny 5

    Calculator

He constantly needs input. And when he doesn't get it he defaults to old TV insults...So I normally just send him to google and he spends days on it. I actually use my calculator on my cell phone more than I use him...

Shipping
Please allow 5- 7 business days for processing the orders. I ship the prints out in a heavy duty cardboard mailing tube. The prints are carefully wrapped and rolled in a single sheet of newsprint paper. Then they are inserted into the tube and taped shut for mailing.

Each order is shipped out using USPS First Class and comes with tracking information that is given to you in a shipping confirmation email so you can keep track of your art from studio to your wall.
Additional policies and FAQs
I love your art, but I see that you don't ship outside the US and Canada. Can you make an exception?
Yes! Absolutely I can and will ship outside the United States. Please contact me for inquiries and I will get you the shipping cost for your items.

What type of printing process do you use?
I use a process of Giclee printing that utilizes archival inks and acid free paper. Each print has been printed on a somerset enhanced velvet Paper (mould made of 100% cotton, this radiant white paper yields exceptional depth of color with a true velvety fine art texture. The surface of the paper becomes an inherent part of the finished print, without overwhelming the image, but adding a fine art element to the composition.) with Archival Ink.

I use this paper with the combination of the archival inks because it gives me the ability to include some incredible detail. If you get this and you notice some creases, please don’t panic! They’re added in there as a designed element and is part of the piece. Each print then is inspected by me before being shipped out, so you're guaranteed the best quality print I can give every time.

What does "Hand Painted" mean on your journals?
Well it means that each has been hand painted or drawn on directly by myself. So you're receiving something unique and original. I generally use Inks, and Acrylics to create the art found on the journals.

Do you ship outside the United States?
Yes, please contact with the item(s) you're interested in purchasing and where you live (postal codes included) and I will estimate shipping cost for you.

Do you do Custom or Commissioned work?
Yes! Please feel free to contact me and we can work out an agreement. Once a design concept and price is agreed upon I generally require half up front and the remainder at the completion.
