Solve a mystery by reading six printable witness statements and four coded messages! With just these clues, can you solve the Case of the Deadly Death Day Party?
The family of "Wicked Wilbur" Warrington has gathered at his gothic mansion to celebrate his 100th birthday, but could a series of dangerous mishaps be merely coincidence, or clandestine attempts on his life? Throughout the party, Wilbur narrowly escapes being poisoned, impaled, pushed down a flight of stairs and set upon by a swarm of killer bees. Oddly, after all the excitement had died down and Wilbur is sitting quietly looking over his gifts, he suddenly drops dead of no apparent cause.
Download a series of letters, witness statements and mysterious coded messages, then challenge yourself and/or your friends to work together to find the means, method and motive of the killer. Includes six letters, four cryptic party invitations, and a mysterious scrap of paper found while cleaning up after the party. Solution package includes decoded messages and a final letter from the Chief Inspector on the case explaining the answers to the mystery.
This engaging, hands-on activity is great as an individual challenge, a cooperative puzzle for friends or adult/child pairs to solve together, a fun book club activity, and even a unique classroom activity. Letters and clues can be printed or viewed online, and can be read silently or out loud in character.
