Bem-vindo ao Amelia J's Crafting - Eu sou Sam e baseado em North Dorset.
Até agora trabalhei em publicidade por 20 anos e depois nos últimos 20 anos em educação. Recentemente, tomei a decisão de mudar de direção e seguir meus sonhos...
Eu sempre amei costurar e isso começou quando eu estava na escola. Nós não podíamos pagar muitas roupas, então eu fiz a minha... particularmente macacões pelos quais eu era bem conhecido na década de 1980!! O tecido era muito mais barato e não havia as lojas de roupas mais baratas na época.
Depois disso, eu costumava fazer minhas roupas infantis, mas uma vida ocupada de família e trabalho em tempo integral assumiu, então a máquina de costura entrou em hibernação.
Tenho muita sorte de ter a minha própria sala de artesanato / estúdio em casa e isso permite-me experimentar muitos ofícios (recentemente fiz um curso de feltro). Eu não posso dizer que todos são bem sucedidos, mas eu gosto de ter uma chance - eu achei o crochê muito difícil por algum motivo!
Agora, mergulhei e embarquei em meu próprio negócio para abranger meu amor por tecidos e artesanato - Amelia Js Bunting.
As pessoas me perguntam por que não tem o meu nome e a resposta é simples ...., minha falecida mãe adorava coelhinho em todos os seus quartos, além de ser ela mesma uma crafter (mais ponto cruz, bordado / costura). Seu nome do meio era Amélia e o primeiro nome de sua mãe era isso também, então isso é em sua homenagem a ambos.
Principalmente este será o coque artesanal e projetos de tecido, mas haverá outros ofícios também, incluindo joias.
O site é um trabalho em andamento e mais um processo de aprendizagem!

Welcome to Amelia J's Crafting - I am Sam and based in North Dorset.
Up to now I worked in advertising for 20 years and then the last 20 years in education. Recently, I made the decision to change direction and follow my dreams...
I have always loved sewing and this started when I was at school. We couldn't afford lots of clothing so I made my own...particularly jumpsuits which I was well known for in the 1980s!! Fabric was much cheaper and there weren't the cheaper clothing shops around then.
Following this, I used to make my childrens clothing but a busy life of family and full time work took over, so the sewing machine went into hibernation.
I am very lucky to have my own craft room / studio at home and this enables me to experiment with many crafts (recently I went on a felting course). I can't say all are successful but I like to have a try - I found crocheting very difficult for some reason!
Now, I have taken the plunge and embarked on my own business to encompass my love of fabric & crafts - Amelia Js Bunting.
People ask me why its not named after me and the answer is simple....,my late mum loved bunting in all her rooms as well as being a crafter herself (more cross stitch, embroidery / sewing). Her middle name was Amelia and her mums first name was that too so this is in her honor of them both.
Primarily this will be handmade bunting and fabric projects but there will be other crafts too including jewellery.
The website is a work in progress and another learning process!
