Mi madre me enseñó a hacer ganchillo cuando tenía 8 años, usando ganchos e hilo encontrados mientras limpiaba la casa de mi bisabuela. Realmente no lo retomé hasta la universidad, cuando aprendí que un gancho y una bola de hilo eran el desestresante perfecto para mí. ¡Mi compañero de cuarto y yo saldríamos de la semana final con hermosas mantas nuevas!
Todavía hago mantas hoy en día, ahora principalmente para amigos y familiares para conmemorar un evento. Ahora prefiero hacer productos que serán utilizados por la gente todos los días, en su cocina, baño o simplemente en la casa. Me gusta la idea de que el ganchillo puede ayudarte a vivir un poco más ecológico en casa. El ganchillo puede ser funcional y ser una hermosa artesanía, y mi misión es crear productos simples y brillantes que se puedan usar una y otra vez.
My mother taught me to crochet when I was 8, using hooks and yarn found while cleaning out my great-grandmother's house. I didn't really pick it up again until college, when I learned that a hook and a ball of yarn were the perfect de-stressor for me. My roommate and I would emerge from finals week with beautiful new blankets!
I still make blankets today, now mostly for friends and family to commemorate an event. Now I prefer to make products that will be used by people everyday - in their kitchen, bathroom, or just around the house. I like the idea that crochet can help you to live a bit more eco-friendly around the home. Crochet can be functional and well as a beautiful craft, and my mission is to create simple, bright products that can be used over and over again.
