Ho iniziato a rilegare libri per ridare vita alle vecchie edizioni tascabili della saga del Signore degli Anelli di mio padre, ormai sgualcite. Erano state il mio punto di partenza nel mondo del fantasy da adolescente e ora si stavano letteralmente disintegrando. Vederle tornare a nuova vita con una copertina robusta e un'elegante scritta in lamina è stata un'esperienza incredibilmente gratificante. Da allora non ho più smesso di rilegare libri. I libri custodiscono tantissimi ricordi: storie che ci trasportano in luoghi lontani, ci fanno incontrare personaggi che ci restano impressi e suscitano emozioni che persistono a lungo dopo aver voltato l'ultima pagina. Trovo immensa gioia nel trasformare i libri preferiti delle persone in splendidi oggetti da esporre in libreria. Lo faccio da tempo per amici e parenti e ora sto iniziando a offrire questo servizio anche ad altri. I started binding books to bring back life to my dad's tattered up paperback originals of the Lord of the Ring series. They had been my entry point into fantasy when I was a teenager and now they were falling apart. Seeing them come to life with a sturdy cover, and classy foil lettering on the cover was incredibly satisfying. I haven't stopped rebinding books since. Books hold so many memories - stories that bring us to far off places, meet characters that stay with us, and evoke feelings that linger long after the last page is finished. I find so much joy in taking people's favorite books and turning them into bookshelf beauties. I've been doing this for friends and family for a while and am just starting to add them up for offering to others.
