Our Story!

Field Line Collective
Magnetic media for magnetic thinking.

These cassette loops were originally created for use in my own music projects — part of a broader exploration of sound, decay, and repetition. Built by hand from upcycled shells and loaded with new RTM tape, each loop is assembled with intention and tested for character and consistency.

This shop is an extension of that creative process — a way to share tools made for real work, not just display. Whether you’re composing ambient pieces, feeding pedals, or experimenting with texture and time, I hope these loops inspire something new.

Q: How long are the loops?

Standard loops come in 5 or 8 second lengths — exact timing may vary slightly due to shell type and mechanics.

Are these pre-loaded with sound?

Nope — they’re blank and ready for your own recordings, samples, or experiments.

Are these new or recycled tapes?

Each loop is built from upcycled cassette shells and loaded with brand new RTM C60 tape.

Can I use these in a standard cassette deck?

Yes, but results may vary. Loops are best used in decks with stable motors and no auto-reverse.

Do you take custom requests?

I’m open to it! Feel free to message me with ideas or specific needs.
