Handcrafted Antler Knives, Rock Sculptures, Cabochons, Utah Trilobites
Our Family business started in 1963 with my father being the first to commercially mine the Utah trilobites in Utah's west desert at Antelope Springs. My mother spent her days shipping out all of the trilobite orders to many roadside stores around the country. In the 1970's my father purchased the Red Beryl mine at the Wah Wah Mountains in Utah. Also, in the 1970's our family started cutting Utah rock; namely the Septarian Nodule. I spent most of my days as a teenager glueing felt on the bottoms of bookends out of Septarian. Our shop was responible for making the Hollow crystal septarian spheres and eggs. Our cutters learned how to shape the rock around the hollow pockets making a high end finished product. Our shop was responsible for making the 6 sided fluorite wands that were so popular in the 1980's and along with our other products we spent 10 years cutting the beautiful fluorite. About 40 years ago, my father had the opportunity to have a Zuni woman draw a Zuni bear pattern for our shop to shape stone bears and our shop was also responsible for designing the bison shape you see today being cut around the world. At that time, we also added the Picasso Stone to our inventory. Eventually we were cutting Zuni and Navajo style bear, bison, spheres, eggs, hearts, cabochons, bookends, slabs, coyotes, etc. My 92 year old father has spent the last 10 years making Antler Knives with Hand Knapped Obsidian blades and Agate arrowheads.
We continue to use many different materials and stones as well as our local stones, such as trilobites, topaz, Tiffany stone, Septarian, Picasso Stone and we have collected most of the materials ourselves. Thank you for shopping with us!
