Ruby Red Paper comenzó como un pensamiento fugaz mientras estaba en un viaje salvaje por carretera con mi esposo a la costa oeste. Viajamos 2000 millas en aproximadamente 2 semanas, y me inspiró a hacer algo de mi creatividad.

Primero noté el movimiento hecho a mano mientras visitaba a nuestro amigo en Seattle. Para cuando llegamos a California, había decidido que esta era la dirección que quería tomar en mi oficio. Cuando llegamos a Colorado, ya había comenzado a dibujar logotipos y a hacer una lluvia de ideas sobre mis productos. No fue hasta que nos mudamos a Austin un mes después que la compañía realmente nació.

Desde entonces, se ha transformado de joyas de resina y diarios tediosamente cosidos a mano a una fantástica colección de diseños en tarjetas de felicitación, cuadernos, impresiones, pegatinas y papelería. El papel es mi única y verdadera pasión creativa.

Encuentro inspiración a través de libros antiguos que tienen las páginas cayendo, y portadas de discos que todavía tienen amor para dar. Utilizo mi vida como una fuente importante de inspiración para el diseño, como jugar videojuegos cuando era niño con mis hermanos y encontrar humor en esas cosas extravagantes y extrañas.

Ahora tengo dos niños maravillosos que amplifican la energía en la sede de Ruby Red. Encuentro que puedo hacer más trabajo durante la siesta que el resto del día. También agradezco a mis estrellas de la suerte por mi increíblemente talentoso esposo Mike, quien dirige el lado técnico del negocio. Lleva muchos sombreros en Ruby Red, desde la gestión de nuestro comercio electrónico, la reparación de impresoras, la producción y el envío.

Ruby Red Paper began as a fleeting thought while on a wild road trip with my husband to the West coast. We traveled 2000 miles in about 2 weeks, and it inspired me to make something of my creativity.

I first noticed the handmade movement happening while visiting our friend in Seattle. By the time we made it to California, I had decided this was the direction I wanted to take my craft. When we reached Colorado, I had already started sketching logos and brainstorming my products. It wasn't until we moved to Austin a month later that the company was truly birthed.

Since then it has morphed from resin jewelry and tediously hand-sewn journals to a fantastic collection of designs on greeting cards, notebooks, prints, stickers, and stationery. Paper is my one true creative passion.

I find inspiration through antique books that have the pages falling out, and beat up record covers that still have love left to give. I use my life as a major source for design inspiration, like playing video games as a kid with my brothers and finding humor in those quirky and bizarre things.

I now have two wonderful little boys who amp up the energy at Ruby Red headquarters. I find that I can get more work done during nap time than the rest of the entire day. I also thank my lucky stars for my incredibly talented husband Mike, who runs the technical side of the business. He wears many hats at Ruby Red, from running our e-commerce, printer repair, production, and shipping.
